Commercialism or USA! USA! USA!
I dread this and it is coming like great big wave on every channel, every newspaper, every corner, inundated with it, you won’t be able to turn on the radio, go to a bar, out to eat, to work, without hearing about it.
A steady drum beat obnoxious in it’s uniformity, over powering and banal; I imagine a warehouse somewhere with decade old signs coming out and being dusted, put on display with the rest of plastic, made in china, American flags, the yards of my neighbors will be full of these, little old ladies at fundamentalist churches and synagogues, with no children at risk of dying will wear crocheted red, white, and blue teddy bears that say, “Support our Troops.” and every time I see these displays, I will think about keeping our troops at home with their families. I’ll think of them and their children and their mothers and their fathers and how much our government has disrespected the veterans of other wars.
I wonder if they will support them in wheel chairs, will they support them through nuclear attack, will they support them while they die, will they support families with children after it’s over and father or mother is unable, will they support them if government gives bad dose or vaccine and they go mad or die? Do they support veterans of last Gulf War? Do they support our Vietnam veterans?
Do they support our troops at home?
